Overview

Perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of the Dolomites, Castel Badia is an eleventh-century castle reimagined as a serene retreat. Here, history and contemporary comfort meet in perfect harmony, creating a place where stillness restores and the mountains inspire.

Wellbeing unfolds naturally—through pure alpine air, healing herbs, thoughtful cuisine, and landscapes that invite exploration. Time slows. The senses sharpen. New stories begin.

Rooms & Chalet

Twenty-eight unique rooms and one private Chalet offer bright, spacious interiors with views over the valley and gardens. Each space blends historic charm with natural materials and modern design, ensuring that no two stays are ever the same.

A Living Legacy

Founded in the 11th century and later transformed into the first female Benedictine monastery of historic Tyrol, Castel Badia carries a history shaped by educated, independent abbesses—most notably Verena von Stuben, whose leadership helped preserve its autonomy. Their spirit of resilience still defines the castle today.

Cuisine

Led by Chef Alberto Toè, the culinary philosophy at Castel Badia views cooking as a gesture of care. His contemporary approach honors the land and the seasons, offering dishes rooted in tradition yet elevated with modern sensibility.
